Dental Implants
What are dental implants?
Dental implants are a modern, and in many cases superior technique for replacing missing teeth.
A small titanium screw is placed in the bone to replace the root of a missing tooth. This implant is then attached to a tooth crown.
Benefits of dental implants
Dental implants are strong, secure and highly successful methods of replacing missing teeth. Implants are fixed into your bone like teeth, and help prevent unwanted and unsightly shrinkage of your mouth.
Unlike dentures which are removable and are often poorly tolerated by patients, dental implants are fixed in place do not move, providing you with superior security and confidence to eat and smile.
Furthermore, implants do not require neighbouring teeth for support like bridges. A bridge often involves destructive preparation of neighbouring natural teeth. Furthermore a bridge distributes extra load to the neighbouring teeth putting them under extra strain. Implants on the other hand, are fixed directly into your jaw bones and like real teeth, they don't depend upon other teeth for their stability.
