Orthodontics
Many people suffer from crowded or misaligned teeth. Often these are identified at a young age as part of the dental checkup - and then corrected in the early teens. Occasionally earlier intervention is necessary.
Most dental corrections involve removing one or more teeth and wearing a fixed appliance (braces) for up to two years. Each patient however needs to be assessed and treated on a case by case basis.
Adult orthodontics is also available and can be a highly effective way of correcting crowded and unsightly teeth. Braces are an effective and healthy way to move teeth to correct crowded and crossed teeth.
Each patient is required to undergo an orthodontic examination, during which a basic assessment is made by your general dentist - to ensure the teeth are in general health. Excellent oral hygiene is important throughout the process.
